At the Sheriff’s Department, Jason is washing cars when he sees a pretty blond drive by. He remembers seeing her in the woods. He umps into the police car and follows her – turning on the sirens to make her pull over. The shirtless Jason exits the car with sunglasses and a ticket pad, asking her for her license, registration and insurance card. She tells him she doesn’t think he’s a cop and wonders where his badge, his gun and his shirt are. Jason tells her he’ll be a cop “real soon” and still wants to see her identification. Jason asks why she was crying the first time he saw her. He introduces himself and she tells him her name is Crystal. Jason wants to meet her at Merlotte’s that night but she says no.
At Merlotte’s, Jesus is waiting for Lafayette and Tommy is trying his hand at bussing tables. Arlene is rude to Jessica. Jessica glamours a couple and tells them not to tip their waitress (Arlene). Hoyt comes in with a date who is very yappy. Jessica is upset and Tommy notices – asking her what is wrong. Jessica tells him about Hoyt and Tommy tries to cheer her up when he gets a call from his father. Joe Lee wants Tommy to come home immediately.

Russell is questioning Bill about the file that Franklin discovered in Bill’s house. Russell is wondering why Bill has names circled on Sookie’s family genealogy papers. Russell surmises that Bill believes telepathy runs in Sookie’s family and Bill is trying to discover more about her abilities. Coot interrupts and wants to talk to Russell in private.
Jason is waiting at Merlotte’s, hoping Crystal will show up when Andy sits down with him. Andy has made arrangements for Jason to take the police entrance exam but Jason isn’t happy about it.

Tommy asks Sam if he can stay with him. Sam says okay but he wants to know what is going on with the Mickens family but Tommy is not inclined to talk.
Bill is in his room when Coot enters, putting him on guard. Coot tells Bill that Sookie is fooling around with Alcide and Bill becomes enraged and begins beating on Coot. A vampire guard enters at the commotion and Bill pushes him against the silver lining on the interior of the doors then escapes the room.
Jason is in the parking lot at Merlotte’s when he sees Crystal. She had come to see him but then couldn’t bring herself to go inside. She is upset and Jason convinces her to go for a walk with him. They end up by the lake where they kiss. Jason comments that she seems most comfortable in the woods. She tells him she has never been happier than she is with him at that moment.
